Changing Places Toilet

We are proud to have Guildford’s first Changing Places toilet facility, located on Level 2 next to The Alteration Yard, near Primark.

Facilities include:

  • Changing Bench – Height Adjustable, Adult Sized, Wall Mounted
  • Hoist – suitable for use with a loop system sling
  • Peninsular Toilet – with drop down grab rails
  • Height Adjustable Washbasin
  • Colostomy Shelf
  • Non Slip Floor
  • Floor Space (sq. m) – 12
  • Emergency Alarm
  • Privacy Screen
  • Tear Off Paper Roll to cover the changing bench
  • Large bin for pads etc
  • Coat Hooks

Shopmobility

Shopmobility is located on level 3 of Bedford Road car park and can be accessed from Laundry Road.

Using Shopmobility makes shopping more accessible when you need a bit of help as wheelchairs and scooters are available for hire.

Open 5 days a week between 10am and 4.30pm, Shopmobility is available on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. (Closed on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays).

Charges are as follows:

  • £9.00 single visit
  • £40.00 for 6 months registration
  • £65.00 for 12 months registration

You will find free parking near the ramp leading to The Friary Guildford and 16 reserved Blue Badge spaces located near the main entrances of Bedford Road car park on level 3 for easy access. For more information please visit www.ageuk.org.uk/surrey/our-services/shopmobility/.

Disabled toilets

Our disabled toilets are fully compliant with the latest health and safety standards. There is a single toilet on level 1 next to Zara Home and a single toilet on level 3 in the food court. Access to the level 3 toilet requires a radar key. If you do not have your own radar key, a key can be collected from Concierge on level 1.

Costa Coffee on level 2 also has a disabled toilet for customers only.

Accessible lifts and walkways

The Friary Guildford has six entrances which are all accessible for wheelchair users and families with pushchairs. The centre operates two lifts and an escalator across the three floors. Escalator access between levels one and two are also available in Zara.

Service Dogs

Assistance dogs including guide dogs, hearing dogs for deaf people and support dogs are always welcome at The Friary Guildford.

Parent and Child Facilities

We are delighted to have a parents room at the centre, which offers a comfortable and spacious area for parents / carers to use for both feeding and changing requirements.

  • Private Feeding Cubicles with comfy seats
  • Changing Mats
  • Sink

Parents Rooms can be found on Level 2 next to The Alteration Yard, near Primark and on Level 3 in the Food Court.

Family Toilet

On Level 2 we have a family toilet with an adult and child toilet and changing table with additional space buggies and prams.

This can be found on Level 2, next to The Alteration Yard, near Primark.

Quiet Room

Designed specifically for those with Autism, dementia, cognitive impairment or other special needs, we have created a quiet and calm space within the centre for shoppers to use if they need a break from the hustle and bustle of a busy shopping centre.

The room has dimmed lighting, and has been decorated in calming colours. The facility provides comfortable chairs, coffee table and bean bag.
