Liz is a Guildford local who documents her life as a first-time mum on her Instagram page. Previously the manager of The Friary’s Skechers store, Liz documents motherhood, fashion and more. We caught up with Liz to get to know her a bit better and asked some fun questions:
Hey! Thanks for being involved in our fashion campaign, Style Starts With You. We wanted to get to know you! So, what is your favourite colour?
Red. It’s such a powerful colour and makes a bold impact!
What would you say is your go-to “Power Outfit”?
It would have to be a statement dress – one that has a great print, colour and fits really well. Paired with a killer heel and some chunky gold jewellery, this look always makes me feel amazing!
What kind of fashion items excite you?
I’m a sucker for a blazer or coat, I own a ludicrous amount, and I feel they can make or break a look. I also adore accessories, as they can lift any basics – chunky jewellery and sunglasses are my favourite!
What would you say has been your favourite holiday?
My fortieth birthday was spent in Palma, Mallorca, and it was amazing. It was our first family holiday with our daughter and the people, and the easy way of life was just stunning. Also, the shopping in Palma was INCREDIBLE 😍
What drew you to Guildford?
I was actually born in Cheltenham and moved here about 8 years ago. I fell in love with the town and then met my fiancée, so now I call it home!
So, what do you love about Guildford?
I just adore the fact it’s a bustling town but you have the green of the Surrey Hills on your doorstep too. The High Street is one of the prettiest I’ve ever seen too!
What is your favourite food?
Anything Italian has my heart – authentic pasta or pizza dishes can’t be beaten.
Do you have a fun fact to share?
I once auditioned for the X Factor. I queued for four hours in the rain to sing two lines of Over The Rainbow, to be told thanks but no thanks. Not a fun experience 🤣
If someone were to create a film of your life, who would you want to play you?
If we could go back in time it would have to be Marylin Monroe. I just adore everything about her; her vulnerability was what made her beautiful.
Who would be your dream dinner guest?
Madonna. She is such an icon, and her music has shaped my youth so much! I would love to hear all about her life!
Which movie is your favourite, and you could watch every day?
Sex and the City movie! The series was my favourite show, and I love how we see the progression of the characters in the movie. I love the fact it’s about female friendships, and of course I love looking at the clothes 😍
Tea or Coffee?
Coffee in the morning, tea in the afternoon (with a biscuit)
As you know, we have launched a Book Base at The Friary in the food court. What would be your favourite book?
My Best Friends Girl by Dorothy Koomson, always has me in tears, but it’s amazing.
