News — World Refill Day
It’s World Refill Day on 16th June which is a global campaign to prevent plastic pollution and help people live with less waste.
Along with their planet-protecting partners, and thousands of everyday activists around the world, they’re calling on businesses, brands and governments to join the refill and reuse revolution and help make single-use plastic a thing of the past. The Friary Guildford is proud to be one of those businesses joining in the revolution.
As a global movement, there’s power to create a wave of change. By choosing to reuse, we’re saving millions of pieces of plastic and sending a message to the rest of the world that the solutions to plastic pollution and the climate crisis are there – and together we can keep our environment, oceans, cities and communities plastic-free for the future.
You can buy a reusable water bottle or coffee cup from many of our stores including Costa, Typo, Flying Tiger and Clintons.
Our solution to the plastic pollution was to have drinking water fountains installed in the centre so that people can fill up their reusable bottles/ cups whilst shopping with us. We have a water fountain located by the Management Office on Level 1 and another located near Shakeaway on Level 2 that you can use for free.
